GO! - 10% Reduction - Fuel - Through December 2008

Fuel - Gasoline & Diesel

Our second year of attempting a 10% Energy Reduction Goal has come to an end. December experienced an increase, leaving the year at a 7% reduction in fuel use from 2007. While not our goal, this is a significant accomplishment.  In two years, our efforts succeeded in reducing our fuel use by 17%!

While the price of fuel has lessened, the environmental impact associated with it remains high. Changing our driving habits to more conservative behaviors can improve the state of things (financially, physically, environmentally and ethically) in both our business and personal lives.

Even with such conservation efforts, our equipment has released 2891 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. While CO2 can persist in the atmosphere for 100 years, it's hard to imagine what you can't see. Instead, imagine 12,570 Nativity Scenes (complete with LoJack devices), aloft in the dark winter sky.

Cagwin & Dorward will continue to reduce the carbon footprint from our business practices and support environmental organizations to further offset the impact.

Tips:

The chart below reflects our vehicular and power equipment fuel bills measured in actual gallons of fuel consumed.
