Thoughts from the Recycle Group:
Why
not just send it all to the dump?
Because . . . about 1/3 of our
waste is paper and paperboard, another 1/3 is yard and kitchen waste,
the rest is divided among glass, metals, plastics, textiles, wood and
other materials - Most all of these items are recyclable or compost-able.

Landfills cause soil
and water degradation as well as habitat destruction - for humans too!!
Reduce,
Reduce, Reduce! There are many things you can do to reduce the amount
of waste you produce.

Rethink Shopping - With practice, you can get pretty good at rethinking everything you consume. When you go shopping for food or clothing - Stop, rethink and ask yourself:
Be creative. There are many more ways we can reduce the waste we produce.
