Cagwin & Dorward has recently began purchasing
Toyota Prius' to replace Manager fleet trucks. Here's what Ron Macler
has to say about his initial experience . . .

Ron's initial Prius experience is a positive one. He'd never
given driving much thought before receiving his Prius
in April. He
averages 46 mpg. "without trying" and
up to 50 mpg. when
trying. But he's still developing his technique. Better still,
he's wasting a lot less time filling up. Now, he visits a gas
station only once a week instead of every other day!
Although his commute
is only stop-and-go half of the time (electric cars perform best
in city driving conditions),
in
town he finds he's less apt to zip around. This helped, in part,
by the ever present dashboard display which reflects his "real
time" mileage efficiency. He
thinks this awareness has crept into his subconscious. He's
also become aware of just how many Prius' are on the streets. Still
very few commercial vehicles but they are on the rise.

When I asked how Customers are responding, he mentioned a visit with Ken
DeSilva of the City of Brentwood. Mr. DeSilva was very impressed, stating
that he'd appreciated his landscaper pursuing such resource responsibility.
The
only draw back for Ron is leg room. He's
curious how other tall C&D
personnel find the seating to be.
Stay tuned for more on that as well as other's experiences and pictures
too.
