Future Visioning of Urban Landscapes

"The reality today is that we are all interdependent and have to co-exist on this small planet. Therefore, the only sensible and intelligent way of resolving differences and clashes of interests, whether between individuals or nations, is through dialogue."
                                          The Dalai Lama

We are going to have a conversation…

We are inviting people from various backgrounds practicing various disciplines that directly or indirectly influence the design, implementation and use of urban landscapes. We ask people to participate in creating a bright future for their communities now and into the future.

Context...

Considering the limitations of our precious resources and understanding that local communities are interconnected to all global communities...

We ask this question…

How can new designs, new implementations, and new uses of our urban landscapes better serve present and future generations?

This will be a day of conversation. A World Cafe with people around tables imagining the future of urban landscapes while considering the consumption of our common and limited resources.  At the end of the day we will harvest our conversations and share what we discussed.

Were new connections made? Did we see things we didn't see before? Are their ways to improve our urban landscapes that are more fitting for the resources available now and into the future?

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete".

Buckminster Fuller
