Our 11th year of sponsoring Youth in Arts' Italian Street Painting Festival, Cagwin & Dorward continues it's support of local communities. Donations generated from the event, go towards promoting visual and performance arts programs to school students throughout the county.

The festival highlights this centuries old method of street painting. Now in it's 17th year, Youth in Arts' signature event attracted artists from throughout the U.S. and Europe to participate.

Dan Sheehy, C&D's liaison to the event, coordinated the color display setup & break-down around the street painting plaza.
Islands of colorful plant material were placed throughout, creating border areas that framed the artists' "canvas".

If you missed it . . .

Visitors were immersed in the vibrant creativity of this internationally renowned festival of art, music, fine food and drink.

This year, three dimensional techniques were incorporated into some of the artists renditions. The theme: Bella Terra celebrated our Beautiful Earth and our relationship to the elements of nature.

Children who expressed their thoughts about Mother Earth on the Children's Avenue, received a packet of flower seeds from C&D.

Because all proceeds went to the Youth In Arts educational organization, everyone who partook, helped support future generations enrich their artistic expression.

Every year, the Italian Street Painting Festival takes place the second weekend of June, in San Rafael, on "A" Street between Fourth and Fifth. Saturday is Family Day, with special activities and performances geared towards youngsters. Admission is free, so be sure to buy some raffle tickets, delicious food and refreshing drinks to help support this worthy cause.
