Strategic Focus Group

Hello Stillwater Participants:

The objective of Stillwater 2006 was to build awareness around the issues of Peak Oil (PO) and Global Warming (GW). From this awareness we want to assemble a team of dedicated individuals who want to explore these issues while holding our common future up to the light of inquiry and imagination to see what directions the company needs to consider in its evolution.

I believe that PO and GW are the two largest challenges this company will face in the thirty four years that I have served with Cagwin & Dorward. What we do now is critical to how well we will do in the future. The future is rapidly approaching.

We are looking for employees who are concerned about the future direction of Cagwin & Dorward, our communities and the planet. We want to form a group that will discuss what effects Peak Oil and Global Warming. This group, which I am calling the Strategic Focus Group, will meet on minimally a monthly basis and we will attempt to assess the immediate effects of Peak Oil and our business and the business of our customers. We are looking for people across all the disciplines of the company, be that Tree Care, Landscape Installation, Administration, Landscape Maintenance, Shop, and Construction.

To start, we want to know who would be interested in joining this group and believe they can devote 8 to 16 hours per month pending the groups movement on issues. The group does not have decision making responsibilities, rather, it will consider the issues and make recommendations that will be considered by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT=  Charlie Thompson, Jeff Englehart, Kristen Giomi, Aaron Majors, Chris Lawrence and Ron Macler) and ExCom ( Wayne Richards, Steve Glennon and myself, Dennis Dougherty)
